Alabama 4-H’er Wins National Cornbread Festival Championship

Gordie Cartwright has earned a slice of national fame, cornbread slice that is. The 10-year-old Alabama 4-H’er recently won the 2010 4-H Cornbread Cook-Off Contest held in South Pittsburg, Tenn.

For Cartwright, from the small town of Gantt near Andalusia, it was the first big contest he ever entered, and as a first-year 4-H’er, he set his sights high.

Support Youth; Dontate to Alabama 4-H through Income Tax Check-Off Program

Alabama residents can support one of the state’s best youth development organizations – Alabama 4-H – when they complete their state income tax forms.

Alabama 4-H is one of the participating charity organizations in the state’s Income Tax Check-Off program. By completing Schedule DC and choosing Alabama 4-H – Line 1-l (one L) – Alabamians can donate their individual return to Alabama 4-H.
